Getting Fancy
For the most part, this week was pretty similar to what I talked about last time. I added in a couple more Forest Dwellers and gave them some dialogue, so I'd like to test that soon. The big thing that happened this week was that I put in a an opening cut scene. I found another nice tutorial that showed the basic process, and once I practiced doing it myself, I made it look good. The opening just shows off some significant parts of the level, but I'm hoping that what it shows gives some good communication.
One thing that has been bothering me about this week was some experimenting that I did with dialogue. I wanted to make a text bubble appear over a Dweller when you get near them, but for some unknown reason, it just wouldn't work. Even after getting help from the Hat In Time Discord, I couldn't come up with the solution. I'll probably do some more digging into it, but if I can't get it to work, it's not a huge deal.
Coming Soon
To be honest, I'm gonna be taking a bit of a break from the level for the next few weeks. The Senior Capstone Midmortem Presentations are coming up, and "Change Please" is in a lot of need. As much as I hate to not work on this level, Capstone has to come first. Even though I'll be taking a backseat for a while from the editor, I do plan on putting up a new QA form in the Discord. This way, I can get some good feedback while I'm away, and once I do come back, I can really make the level great.
