A Hat In Time Mod: Week 6

Not Too Much This Week

Unfortunately, I got wrapped up in work for my Senior Capstone this week and couldn't do as much on the mod as I wanted, so this blog post is gonna be a little short. The big thing I did this week was work more on my documentation. Mainly, I wanted to put together a real level design doc. In the past, I feel like my documentation has needed some improvement, so I wanted to make what I have look really good. Fortunately, I have an awesome roommate who was nice enough to share some of his documentation he's doing for his level design class with me as reference. Check out his website here.

Along with a level design doc, I also put together a QA form, and asked a group of friends if they could test my level when they're free. All of them have played A Hat In Time and are also game designers, so I'm confident that they can give me some really good feedback on what they like, and what I should improve on.

Coming Soon...

While writing this blog, I've already done a lot of work that I'll get to in the next blog post, but to summarize it briefly, I've made an additional path for the player to take in the level. Along with this I'm gonna take the QA feedback that I get, and make changes accordingly, but also make sure to stick with the themes and challenges that I've planned so far. The level is really coming together, and it's looking like polish is fast approaching. Look forward to the next post, cause there's gonna be a lot to talk about.
